Kidfue is an audiovisual passion project, sonically-focused on exploring warm analog sounds, various levels of fidelity, and surreal spaces. Justin Horstmann uses this medium as a source of creative joy, frequently reveling in the beauty of delay, reverb, & saturation.
The project also has an illustrative component (all album art is made in-house!), which can be found here and over on Instagram.
You can get in touch via email.
Technical Notes: The music is made with a combination of digital and analog processing. Ableton Live serves as the DAW, digital effects from FabFilter, Goodhertz, Valhalla, & others help shape sounds. Analog saturation is achieved using cassette tape, a Coil Audio 286s tube preamp, and a variety of home-brewed, janky tube preamps.
All production, mixing, & mastering is self-done.
