Kidfue is an audiovisual passion project, sonically-focused on exploring warm analog sounds, varying levels of fidelity, and surreal spaces. Justin Horstmann uses this medium as a source of creative joy, frequently reveling in the beauty of delay, reverb, & saturation.
The project also has an illustrative component (all album art is made in-house!), which can be found here and over on Instagram ~
You can get in touch via email.
Technical Notes: The music is made with a combination of digital and analog processing. Ableton Live serves as the DAW, digital effects from FabFilter, Goodhertz, Valhalla DSP, and others help shape sounds. Analog saturation is achieved using cassette tape and a variety of home-brewed, janky tube preamps.
All arranging, mixing, & mastering is self-done.
